Andhra University win KIIT Premier League

Andhra University won the KIIT Premier League Cricket Tournamentbeat, defeating KIIT Spartans by 60 runs in the final at KIIT campus in Bhubaneswar today. In reply to Andhra team’s big total of 213 for seven in 20 overs, KIIT Spartans could make 153 for nine in the stipulated overs.

Andhra batsman S Kranti Kumar cracked a 40-ball 68 to be adjudged the man of the match. Tathagat Rout, Chirag Baliarsingh, S Suresh Kumar and G B Reddy were named the man of the tournament, best batsman, best bowler and best fielder respectively.

The champions received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the runners-up were given Rs 50,000. Orissa Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera handed over the trophy in the presence of KIIT founder Dr Achyut Samant and Star Consultancy Services managing director Triveni Mohanty.
